Brentwood is a family oriented community which is best known throughout the Bay Area for its agriculture, such as cherries, corn and peaches. The downtown area is mainly centred around the intersection of Oak Street and First Street with offices, restaurants, a movie theatre and small stores. Starting as a farming community in 1800, Brentwood has become a city that has been constanly expanding and welcoming new residents.
